Together with partners I am consulting on these topics:
- ICT business value assessment
For companies struggling to make a sound business case on ICT investments we facilitate business value assessment delivering both expected qualitative and quantitative values.
We measure intangible benefits along four dimensions: People, Process, Technology and Organisation. This captures employees attitudes and perceptions of value creation.
Then intangible benefits are linked to scenarios and in turn to key performance indicators. KPIs and scenario analysis are used to quantify expected economic value.
As well as we established baseline, and framework for value assessment, KPIs monitoring.
- Process modelling and improvement
For companies in need to manage, control and improve their processes, workflows or operations we model and visualise processes (e.g., BPMN 2.0), analyse (assign KPIs) and optimise (e.g., by mathematical modeling in Matlab).
- Data quality, analytics and information visualization
Lost in data? Low effectiveness of information communication? Poor decision-making quality? We offer a full analytics and optimisation service package starting with data cleaning and quality improvement, analytics and model building, and fine-tuning visualisation.
- Semantic technology and information integration
Distributed data? and need in
- Business model assessment and optimization
New endeavour? Unclear path and options?
- Requirements analysis, system implementation
Struggle with Focus on decision-making needs such as information quality and format, efficient processes.
A sample list of my recent clients and projects:
Industry-driven research projects:
- Valuation method for Integrated Operations
Technological advancements are deployed and integrated in a composite manner changing organisational structures, roles and processes in order to improve collaboration and decision-making. Therefore, value must also be measured by accounting for improved decision-making and execution. Improved decisions are the result of integrated competencies and leveraged knowledge in multi-disciplinary collaborative operations.
- SPICE-Service Platform for Innovative Communication Environment - the FP6 IST project
This project will research, prototype and evaluate an extendable overlay architecture and framework to support, easy and quick service creation, test and deployment of intelligent mobile communication and information services. Building on significant advances in IT technologies, the SPICE platform will support multiple heterogeneous execution platforms allowing for new, innovative services to be spread across different operator domains and over different countries realizing a variety of business models.
For users, operators and service providers, the SPICE project will turn today's confusing heterogeneity into an easily manageable and rich service environment by exploiting the diversity of device capabilities and fostering service adoption. The SPICE approach will broaden business opportunities in the communications and associated business sectors.
- IIP-Integrated Information Platform for Reservoir and Subsea Production Systems - funded by NFR (Norwegian Research Council)
The objective of this project is to create an integrated information platform. It will enable multi-disciplinary teams to work simultaneously in an integrated operation environment that may consist of many operation centres geographically dispersed over wide distances. The integrated information platform will be enabled by integrating several industrial data and technical standards, and also by adding new terminology. The project will also develop prototype tools for near real time off- and onshore decision support of reservoirs and subsea production facilities.
To overcome proprietary and system dependent data definition that prohibits effective exchange, sharing and integration of information, ISO 15926 Integration of Life Cycle Data for Oil and Gas Process Plants Including Facilities, has been the chosen as a starting point. This international data standard is based on an ontology and first order logic and has a generic concept model that makes it ideal as an integration platform for other standards and also makes it ideal for use by Web Ontology Language (OWL).
